These momos are basically is a dumpling that is made from flour with a flavor stuffing. Learn them and make them at your home or even at the parties.

What is suji?
So suji is called semolina. It is a coarse flour purified wheat middlings of durum wheat. ( known as a hard type of wheat).
The word called semolina refers to a sweet dessert that is made from milk and semolina.

1.Cooking methods: As momo can be eaten in my differents ways such as steamed, baked, or even fried. But for today’s recipe, we are making steamed suji ko momo.
2.Filling: We have a lot of mixed veggies inside the filling. For my filling I use, cabbage, onion, ginger, soybeans, chayote, and fresh coriander.
3.Dough: we are making dough for the dumpling with suji ( semolina ). If u don’t have you can use all-purpose flour.
4.Time: well making momo takes quite an amount of time. So make them if u have time or with family members. If u want to make everything on your own then it might take you 2 hours or less it depends upon your speed and the working tools you are using.
Ingredients for dough
- 1 cup – suji
- 1/2 cup – rice flour
- 1 tsp – salt
Ingredients for filling
- Chayote – 1 cup
- Soybeans – 1 cup
- Cabbage – 1 cup
- Onion – 2 cup
- Ginger – 1 tbsp
- Green coriander – 1 tbsp
- Momo masala – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 tbsp
- Cooking oil – 4-5 spoon
Making dough ( Suji ko momo)
1.Take 1 cup of suji, rice flour, and salt in a bowl. Mix them well.
2.Add a small amount of water to it and start to knead as shown in the picture. ( Adding too much water can ruin your dough ).
3.After the dough is done cover them with the help of a plate or any type of kitchen towel. Let it rest for 10-20 minutes.
Making vegetable Stuffing ( suji ko momo )
1.Vegetable should be finely chopped. And as for the chayote you need a steel grater. To cut chayote with the knife will be difficult so it’s better you use a steel grater. Put all the chopped veggies in a big bowl and add salt, ginger, and momo masala.
3.Before mixing them take a pan and heat the oil in it. While the oil is being heated mix the veggies nicely. After some minutes add the hot oil (it’s for texture and flavor) to the veggies and mix them nicely with the hand for 5-10 minutes. ( or you can add hot oil at the very first when you are ready for mixing).
5.The vegetable stuffing is ready.
1. Divide the dough into two parts.
2.Make them into the shape of a small ball and cover them with the help of paper. So that they won’t dry.
3. Take one dough ball into the board. Roll them and make them into a thin circle of about 4-5 inch diameter. The edge must be thin.
4. Add 1 spoon/tsp of veg stuffing in the center.
5. Take one end and join the edges. It’s a simple and easy method. ( if u cant make momo as picture then do it just like i told u to do ).
6.Make all suji ko momo this way and cover them until it ready to steamed.
Steaming Suji ko momo
1.Take a momo steamer pot. Add water to the pot and heat them until the water is boiled.
2.Add some oil to the steamer pan and arrange them nicely.
3.Put them in the steamer pot and cover them with the lid. Cook them for 18-20 minutes.
4.To know it’s cooked or not, check them by touching the momo. If u do not feel sticky then it’s cooked but if u feel sticky then it’s still not cooked.
